Abstract

This study aimed to validate a multidimensional organizational pride model comprising identity and belonging pride, mission and value pride, and efficiency and performance pride among managers and human resource deputies of Tehran Municipality. This applied-developmental study employed a quantitative, descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population consisted of 826 managers and human resource deputies employed across the 22 districts of Tehran Municipality in 2025. Using Cochran’s formula, 262 participants were selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a researcher-developed Organizational Pride Questionnaire scored on a five-point Likert scale. Content validity was assessed using the Content Validity Ratio and Content Validity Index, and internal consistency was evaluated through Cronbach’s alpha. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS version 22 and SmartPLS version 3. The measurement and structural models were evaluated through partial least squares structural equation modeling, including assessment of reliability, convergent validity, discriminant validity, path coefficients, explained variance, and overall model fit. The measurement model demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients ranged from 0.788 to 0.973, composite reliability coefficients ranged from 0.817 to 0.975, and all average variance extracted values exceeded 0.50. Discriminant validity was supported by the Fornell–Larcker and HTMT criteria. All structural paths were positive and statistically significant. Mission and value pride significantly predicted identity and belonging pride (β = 0.748, t = 18.961, p < .001) and efficiency and performance pride (β = 0.349, t = 2.485, p = .013). Identity and belonging pride significantly predicted mission and value pride (β = 0.168, t = 2.987, p < .001) and efficiency and performance pride (β = 0.170, t = 2.327, p < .001). The overall R² was 0.686, while GOF = 0.628 and SRMR = 0.021 indicated satisfactory model fit. The findings confirmed that organizational pride in Tehran Municipality is a reliable and valid multidimensional construct and that mission and value pride plays a particularly central role in strengthening employees’ organizational belonging and performance-related pride.
