Author Guidelines

The Journal of Management and Business Solutions (JMBS) welcomes the submission of high-quality, original manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of theory and practice in the fields of management, business, and organizational studies. These guidelines aim to support authors in preparing their manuscripts for peer review and publication. Submissions that do not conform to the following instructions may be returned for revision prior to editorial evaluation.


1. Manuscript Categories

JMBS accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles (5,000–8,000 words)

  • Theoretical or Conceptual Papers (5,000–7,500 words)

  • Systematic Literature Reviews and Meta-Analyses (6,000–10,000 words)

  • Case Studies (4,000–6,000 words)

  • Short Communications (2,000–3,000 words)

  • Book Reviews (1,000–1,500 words)

Note: All word counts include references, tables, and figures.


2. General Formatting

  • Language: All manuscripts must be written in English, using academic language and correct grammar.

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point

  • Spacing: Double-spaced throughout, including references, tables, and figure captions

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

  • Alignment: Left-aligned text

  • Page Numbers: Number all pages consecutively

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)


3. Structure of Manuscripts

Original Research Articles and Theoretical Papers should include the following sections:

  1. Title Page

    • Title (concise and informative)

    • Full names of all authors with affiliations and ORCID iDs

    • Corresponding author’s contact details (email, institutional address)

  2. Abstract

    • Structured abstract (200–300 words) including:

      • Objective

      • Methods

      • Findings

      • Conclusion

      • Keywords (4–6 words)

  3. Main Text

    • Introduction

    • Literature Review (may be integrated into the introduction)

    • Methods and Materials

    • Findings/Results

    • Discussion

    • Conclusion

  4. Declarations

    • Funding Statement

    • Conflict of Interest Statement

    • Ethical Approval (if applicable)

    • Acknowledgments

  5. References

    • Must follow APA 7th edition formatting (see Section 5)

  6. Tables and Figures

    • Embedded in the main document after the references or placed near first mention in the text


4. Citation and Referencing Style (APA 7th Edition)

JMBS follows the APA Style (7th edition) for in-text citations and reference lists.

4.1 In-Text Citations

Use the author–date format:

  • One author: (Smith, 2020)

  • Two authors: (Brown & Lee, 2019)

  • Three or more authors: (Johnson et al., 2021)

When quoting directly, include the page number:

  • (Smith, 2020, p. 45)

4.2 Reference List

References should be listed alphabetically by the last name of the first author and follow APA 7th edition rules. Use hanging indents (0.5 inches).

Note: DOIs should be included for all sources where available.


5. Submission Process

Authors must submit their manuscripts via the journal’s online submission portal or email submission system (if applicable). The submission must include:

  • Manuscript file (with all sections as outlined)

  • Cover letter (explaining the significance of the manuscript and confirming it is not under review elsewhere)

  • Declaration of any conflicts of interest


6. Ethical Requirements

All submissions must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics policy. This includes:

  • Proper citation and acknowledgment of sources

  • Full disclosure of conflicts of interest

  • Ethical approval for studies involving human participants

  • Adherence to anti-plagiarism guidelines (checked via iThenticate)


7. Peer Review and Decision

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts.

  • The typical review cycle takes 4 to 8 weeks.

  • Authors may receive decisions in one of four categories: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

  • Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations.


8. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

The journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 1,500,000 Iranian Tomans for each accepted article. No submission fees are required. Payment instructions will be sent after acceptance.


9. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain full copyright of their published work under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). This allows others to use, share, and adapt the work non-commercially, provided proper credit is given.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
